Spend 7 days with Chef Anita Lo exploring the beauty and bounty of the Yucatán. Learn from local cooks in hands-on cooking classes where you’ll prepare salsas, guacamole, panuchos, poc chuc, pollo pibil, tortillas and so much more.

Chef Lo’s cooking class will teach you how to make a meal using local ingredients with her signature, contemporary take on Yucatecan cuisine.

Our Hacienda Es Su Hacienda

Savor your 7 day/6 night culinary adventure in an elegant, restored 17th century  hacienda, with just 7 bedrooms. It’s situated on 250 acres of gardens and natural habitat with walking trails surrounding a swimming pool, spa, salon and gym pavilion.

Shaped by traditional hacienda architecture, The Casa Principal includes expansive terraces, elegant living rooms and a library with a well-stocked bar. Soak in the sound of pouring waterfalls and bird songs, while lounging on outdoor terraces. The beautiful bedrooms include luxurious baths, high ceilings and ceramic tile floors. An attentive staff will take care of your every need.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival and transfer to Hacienda Petac. You will be greeted at the airport by our driver and guide. The drive from the airport is a comfortable half hour.

Depending on the hour of arrival, guests will either be greeted with iced Jamaica tea and botanas or tea and a light supper. We make the best Margaritas and serve the coldest beers at your request!
Day 2
Breakfast by the pool followed by a hands on cooking class in the Teaching Kitchen.

After lunch there will be time for a few massages… Margely, our masseuse will be available to schedule appointments

This evening, enjoy a Mixology class followed by supper follows in the Dining Room, with a special celebration for two of our guests.
Day 3
After breakfast, we head to Merida for an interesting tour to include the City Cemetery, drive through various old colonial neighborhoods, stop to walk through the Main Square and the Main Market We will have time to do a little shopping with a visit to the famous KiXocolatl chocolate store and refreshments at the Gastronomy Museum. After a slow meander up the beautiful Paseo Montejo, we make our way back to Hacienda Petac and lunch This afternoon is free to have a swim, a game of pool or ping pong, or just relax in a hamaca.
Day 4
After breakfast, meet in the Teaching Kitchen for a hands on class making Caldillo Poblano and Tostada de Camarones. You'll also learn to make a couple fancy and fun napkin folds today.

Lunch on the terrace Enjoy your free time for a few hours this afternoon. Stroll the gardens or take a nap at the pool or enjoy the Jacuzzi. We have a Fitness Center that is always open, with Treadmill, Elliptical, and stationery Bike plus free weights.

After supper, we suggest the Games Room/Salon de Juegos has a pool table, chess table, decks of cards, and scores of other board games and Sonos Music.
Day 5
Pack your bathing suits and waterproof shoes for an excursion to the Gulf of Mexico town of Celestun. The drive is about 1 hour 20 minutes. There will be two boats and life jackets on board. All the operators are licensed and trained. The tour is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. You will see a colony of flamingos and other bird species that are feeding in the lagoons. Afterwards, drive to the Gulf beach, where you can have a delicious fresh seafood lunch. Back at the Teaching Kitchen we'll make the traditional Mayan country meal, Poc Chuc. Marinated thin pork cutlets with roasted habaneros and tomatoes, mixed with cilantro and fresh hot tortillas.
Day 6
Today you will be cooking with Chef Anita Lo. She will guide us through a special day of cooking. Tonight, before supper, a serenade during cocktail hour by the incomparable troubadours, Los Tres Yucatecos.
Day 7
Today is departure day and depending on your flight time we will offer coffee, banana bread, hard-boiled egg and fruit or a light sit-down breakfast.

Transfers and taxis will be arranged according to your departure time.
