The Forks are Traveling in October

When Emilia Romagna Tourism called Tour de Forks to recommend a celebrity chef to bring to Emilia Romagna, we suggested Michelin-starred chef and owner of Annisa, Anita Lo. Tour de Forks met Chef Lo when she came on our culinary tour to Australia in 2003 and Sth Africa in 2009. For this mouthwatering adventure, Chef Lo will hunt white truffles in Savigno, cook with Chef Spigaroli, drink DOC Lambrusco, taste Parmigiano Reggiano and Traditional Balsamic vinegar, and visit Casa Artusi, a food & wine cultural center dedicated to Pellegrino Artusi. In 1891, Artusi published the first recipe book in Italy. Forks Melissa Joachim and Lisa Goldman will accompany Chef Lo, along with several journalists. Check our Facebook page for updates.

Our French Associates, Kathy and Debra are back in France - Kathy in Sancerre and Valency with Atout France, for cellar and vineyard visits before heading to Destination Vignobles (Wine trade show) in Lyon, one of France's major gastronomic cities. Lyon has three emblematic vineyards: Beaujolais, Cotes du Rhone and Vin de Savoie and is the perfect place for this event.

Debra meets with chefs and local producers in and around Lyon during the trade show and then, together, they'll embark on a river cruise in Bordeaux with CroisiEurope, exploring the wine region around the Gironde River. After the cruise, Sarlat-la-Canada will be their home as they discover gastronomic, historic and cultural secrets in the matchless beauty of the Dordogne region, renowned for truffles, wild mushrooms, strawberries, walnuts, duck and foie gras. Be sure to follow them on our Facebook page.

As you see, we are working hard to research and develop our uncommon epicurean keep checking our website!

October 12-21, 2014
Ah, the Hamptons. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the chaos of New York City, these beautiful beach communities are a blissful world away from the concrete jungle. Experience this marvelous seaside destination as the cognoscenti do: filled with fresh, seasonal foods and fine local wines. You'll stay at the historic Bridgehampton Inn, a more than 200-year-old establishment which is owned by cookbook author Sybille van Kempen. Experience 2 hands-on cooking class with celebrated Chef Arie Pavlou, who was schooled at the Cordon Bleu, Paris and worked under a 2 star chef in Paris. You'll also visit one of New York state's most lauded wineries, W├Âlffer Estate, located on a former potato farm. With its old farmhouse and boarding stables, it breathes old-world charm. The afternoon ends with a tour of an artisanal dairy specializing in raw farmstead cheeses made from its herd of Jersey cows. The final evening's main event is a tasting dinner paired with organic wines from the North Fork. In your free time, take a pilates class, go whale watching or simply take a barefoot walk on the beach. For more details click here, or email

The Original Macaron: Maison Adam in St. Jean-de-Luz, France

Macarons, small cookies filled with a light layer of cream, are a sought-out food experience in Paris and a world-wide food craze. In fact, Pierre Hermé started Le Jour de Macaron, celebrated every March 20th.

But in St.-Jean-de-Luz, at Maison Adam, you'll find macarons that are completely different and made from the original 17th century recipe. The Adam family made these special cookies for the marriage of Louis XIV and have continued to use the same secret recipe.
